Concord West is a suburb located approximately 16 kilometers west of Sydney's Central Business District in New South Wales, Australia. It is bordered by Rhodes, North Strathfield, and Concord, with a 2021 Census population of 6,178 residents representing diverse multicultural communities.
The suburb takes its name from Concord, Massachusetts, USA, site of the Battle of Concord during the American Revolutionary War, chosen to encourage peaceful relations.
European settlers used fertile land around the Parramatta River primarily for farming during the 19th century. Concord West was designated as a separate suburb in 1993, having previously been under Concord Council until amalgamating with Drummoyne Council to form the City of Canada Bay in 2000.
